Less than a year after being named a UK StartUp Awards winner, Hived has announced a $42 million raise to supercharge the rollout of its fully electric parcel delivery service, a major moment for one of the UK’s most exciting green logistics startups.
For anyone who’s ever waited around for a delayed parcel, dealt with poor tracking, or wondered how much pollution that next‑day delivery is pumping into the air, Hived exists to offer a smarter way. They’re building a parcel delivery network from scratch, one that’s 100% electric, built on custom tech, and designed to work better for people, businesses, and the planet.

The mission is ambitious, and from day one, they’ve moved fast. Hived launched in London in 2021 and quickly made a name for themselves by proving that sustainable delivery isn’t just possible, it’s scalable. Today, they deliver for big-name brands like ASOS, and Zara, while offering an affordable, reliable, totally emissions-free alternative to the traditional courier giants.
In 2024, that bold thinking earned them recognition at the UK StartUp Awards, where they were named both UK StartUp of the Year and Consumer Services StartUp of the Year. The judges were drawn to more than just their rapid growth; Hived was building a delivery model from scratch, designed to make sense for the world we live in now.
Now, with $42 million in fresh funding and backed by notable investors, Hived is gearing up to take its model nationwide. The investment will be used to launch a new fleet of electric trucks, expand their network beyond London, and bring their emissions-free delivery service to more businesses across the UK.
The investment will also fuel hiring across their engineering and data teams, and accelerate development of HIVEDmind; the tech platform at the heart of their operation.
For co-founder and CEO Murvah Iqbal, it’s about proving that great delivery can be the norm, not the exception. She also has spoken openly about how outdated systems in legacy delivery companies are holding the sector back. Hived’s own parcel-tracking platform is designed for modern ecommerce from the ground up, helping reduce failed deliveries, cutting customer complaints, and boosting on-time rates to 99%.
As Murvah puts it, parcel delivery should feel “seamless, not stressful”
And it’s that combination of operational control, precision data, and founder-led tenacity that’s helping Hived stand out from the pack. It's a huge milestone, and it’s just the beginning.
What makes Hived’s success especially exciting is how quickly it’s all happened. In just a few short years, they’ve gone from a startup with a vision to a company raising tens of millions to lead the future of logistics.
This is the kind of story we’re proud to support at the UK StartUp Awards. We exist to highlight founders who see problems, take chances, and get on with making things better. Hived’s journey shows what can happen when a good idea is given the chance to grow.
And they’re not alone. Across every region and sector, we’re seeing StartUp Awards alumni raising rounds, scaling fast, hiring talent, and building businesses that make a real impact.
As Hived enters this next chapter, we’ll be watching (and cheering) from the sidelines, proud to have played even a small part in their story.
This September, the very best startups from across the UK will come together at the UK StartUp Awards Nationals, held live at Ideas Fest.
